In 1975, artist Bruce Wolfe illustrated six surreally colorful and cleverly conceived fairy tale-themed Fender advertisements. Elaborately trippy in both their imagery and accompanying copy, these popular ads ran in various publications in 1975 and 1976, including Fender’s highly collectible Collected Works of Fender 1976 catalog, and represented what many consider as Fender ad design at its most artistic.

Fender’s popular “Fairy Tale” ad campaign of 1975-76 depicted a host of fairy tale characters using Fender guitars, basses, amps and effects units; including Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the Three Little Pigs, and Jack and the Beanstalk. The ads are now prized among Fender collectors, and Fender resurrected the Alice, Goldilocks, Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood ads for a special 2006 commemorative reprint package containing all four.
